Strategy & Ops

A simple, fun way to define strategy is “planting a flag in the distance to march towards”. I created these documents to facilitate both planting that flag and giving my team guidelines to figure out how to get there.

UX Ops

Teams tend to thrive when roles, responsibilities, and deliverables are clear. I've noticed that my designers excel when they have a sense of responsibility and impact on their team and deliverables. Here's a glimpse of how I structure UX Ops to boost impact and efficiency.

Driving UX maturity

I created a diagnostic chart to help teams gauge UX maturity within a product team. The top section is a diagnostic exercise, while the bottom provides guidelines to drive UX maturity.

Defining roles and responsibilities

Clear roles and responsibilities are essential for team efficiency. Since many team members were embedded in non-traditional Agile product teams, I developed a one-sheet roles and responsibilities chart to help them boost efficiency within their teams.

Design Strategy

Here's a handy tool I've developed to keep projects on track and focused on concrete, measurable outcomes. The main details are on the left side. For companies using the H.E.A.R.T framework, filling in the success metrics in the grid is a breeze.

Hiring

As a Manager, my top priority is recruiting top talent and ensuring their job satisfaction. If you nail that, everything else falls into place more smoothly. Traditional interview processes can be subjective, one-sided, and drag on. So, I developed the interview process below to address these issues. With this approach, I've successfully identified, interviewed, and extended offers to quality candidates within a week.
